Calgon take me away, oh wait I meant Cabernet sauvignon :) I was coming home from work, stopped at the red light and was about to turn right and felt my tire hit the curb, two seconds later I pull over to a side street and get out and hear loud hissing. I had a two inch gash in my tire. So I pull over get out my spare and start thinking "I don't know how to change a tire". Oh I watched my husband do it but never attempted it on my own. So I call my dh and luckily he only works down the street. When he came over we noticed another lady with a flat tire too, coincidence? She comes walking over and asks if I got my flat truing right at the corner, I reply right away "yes" turns out there is a huge hunk of metal sticking out from the curb from when there was some work done on a building on that corner. It gashed her tire too and she had a baby in the car. She took pictures of both our tires and the metal in the street, she is going to email me the photos. She called the police to file a complaint. A police officer came but didn't speak to either of us. We were told by the dispacther he just checked the curb wrote a report and left. When she was leaving she said there was a reporter...
I am guessing from the local newspaper, doing a report on a similar story. So hopefully we hear something from either the city of the company in charge of the construction, because I wonder how many other people have had this happen to them. I don't normally go around running into curbs, so the metal piece had to be pretty out there. So Monday morning I guess I will be putting done a chunk of change for a new tire. And to top it off I come home to an army of ants taking over my bathroom. I Heard that if you spray Windex over the trail is disrupts their scent trail, needless to say I have the most sparkly clean bathrooms walls and counter tops anyone west of the Rockies, lol. Until I call the manager to get the ant man here I will be taking on these pesky buggers myself, anyone have any tried and true ways to combat them without harsh chemicals, cant take the smell. The Windex by the way smells lovely. Wish me luck that my weekend goes smoother than today, thankfully nothing really serious happened like an accident of major damage to my tire. Just my luck!
